Black-glazed exaleiptron (scented oil vessel) with a lid. Intact, with minor marks on the body. Squat globular body, lid with a knob handle. One raised strap handle attached to the shoulder. Small spout, formed as a lion’s head. The lid decorated with incised shoots. Found in a Hellenistic grave at Agia Marina, Arsinoe. More graves of that period have been found around Arsinoe, belonging to the cemetery of ancient Messene.
