Tholos tomb 1, Tragana
Amphora
BronzeHeight: 62.7 cm
Bronze amphora, deformed and restored. Made of four bronze sheets connected with rivets. Strap handles, also riveted. Found as part of a "treasure" of bronze artefacts in the mycenaean tholos tomb 1 at Tragana. These bronze artefacts provide ample data concerning the development of metallurgy in Messenia Pylia during the Mycenaean period.
