Statuette
White marbleHeight: 30 cm
Statuette of a seated Cybele, with most of the upper torso, the head, arms, as well as the greatest part of the throne's lions. The right hand was inset, as can be deduced by the socket in the right arm. The left foot stands on the plinth and the right one is slightly raised. She wears sandals; her feet are partly covered by the chiton. The chiton is belted at the waist. The hemation covers the thighs and most of the calves, as well as the left hand. Found in the Asclepieion of ancient Messene.
