Bronze statuettes found in the town of Kyparissia, in the excavation of a burial peribolos. The heads, torsos and limbs were separately made and put together. Their style indicates that they were locally produced. Based on the rendering of their hair, which is reminiscent of a similar imperial statue from ancient Messene, they can be dated to late antiquity, in the 4th cent. CE. The resemblance of the two statuettes and the fact that they were found together, has led to the hypothesis that they are depictions of the Dioskouroi, who were worshiped in southern Peloponnese.
