Τhe laconic type antefix with relief floral decoration comes from the roof of the hellenistic phase of the temple that was excavated next to river Selas, near Romanos, at the site of Navarino Dunes hotel. The temple was an elongated building with stone-made foundations, mud brick walls and a tile-covered roof supported by wooden columns. Constructed in the 7th cent. BCE, the temple was dedicated to a Potnia Theron (Lady/Queen of wildlife), perhaps Artemis. The building was repaired and remained in use until the 3rd cent. BCE, which is the date of the roof antefix.
